Buddhist Psychology
We cannot stop pain
from coming into our lives.
We are subject to the chaos
of wordly events.
Yet most of our suffering
we inflict upon ourselves
because we do not see things clearly
our thoughts and actions
are misguided.
Our goal should be
to recognize and transcend
our delusions
and thereby minimize our suffering.

The mind is a wild garden
where healthy and unhealthy thoughts
pop up out of nowhere.
Discard the weeds
Gather the fruit
and harvest the rewards
of a beautiful mind.
++++
When you walk down
the road of self-pity,
you walk alone.
If you're looking for someone else
to rescue you,
there's no one there.
Only you
can change
the road you're on.
